What are glass roofs?

External glass roofs are ideal for residential, office or industrial buildings as they do not disturb the overall image. The diversity of technical possibilities allows the construction of large surface roofs with virtually invisible load-bearing structures. The method of attaching them to the walls and the thickness of the glass depend on the size of the roof, the kind of material the walls are made of and the position of the roofing.

Despite appearances, glass roofs are highly durable and weatherproof. First of all, the glass is toughened to make it eight times harder to break, then it is combined layer by layer with VSG foil laminating. This eliminates the danger of the glass pane falling out of the substructure since even if it got broken, it would remain in its place, held together by the layer of foil. Besides, glass being a weatherproof material, it does not require any further maintenance as is the case with steel products.
